Yes I did mention it indeed. Björn Ottoson has created formulas for calculating the maximum saturation in OkLab such that a colour doesn’t fall outside of the sRGB gamut when converted back and that formula is easy to adapt to wider gamuts. OkHsv and OkHsl are quite interesting for making colour pickers too.

This sounds really interesting with color pickers and OKlab! If we had that as a color space in an OCIO configuration it could be used for the color picking role.
I’ve been using linear sRGB/709 for color picking for reflective materials. Not entirely happy with it though, and have wished for something nicer that would produce more “painterly” tones. In particular OKhsl seems to be quite nice in that regard.
