The blue star on yellow before and after the fix as two plots. Yes, the “gradient band” inside the star is nearly gone, but the kink in the blue is still there and the maximum values in the center of the star are a slight cyan and not blue.

The blue star improved somehow, but the red star has a similar issue where the center has an inner ring.
Of course the LMT was not meant to try to takle this issue as well.
