Recap:

  • This whole meeting was around a ‘MVP’: how do we scope the problem i.e. limiting it to AP0 to AP1 and whether that makes the problem easier
  • @matthias.scharfenber and Carol working on a ‘progress report’ of discussions thus far
  • @joseph asked if is it worth doing the mapping in stages? Camera native to AP0, AP0 to spectral locus, spectral locus to AP1?
  • We really do want to stay camera agnostic - leave camera specifics to IDTs
  • Complete color accuracy is almost impossible: we really do need to focus on the obvious issues - negative, out of gamut, visually artifacting
  • Throughout the discussions, the need for a core ‘confidence gamut’ is still the most talked about / necessary component so as to not alter core colors. Is Pointer’s gamut useful in this capacity?
  • Is creating a ‘dummy camera’ the mirrors more the function of actual camera sensors vs. the current ACES RICD worthwhile?
  • We talked a bit about where film fits into this? What about digital still cameras?
  • Cancelling next APAC friendly meeting in favor of document review - more to come on this soon! Next EMEA meeting still happening as scheduled.
