Hey guys,
congratulations for wrapping this up ! Tremendous effort.
@zachlewis Is this one of the latest mentions of the pool ball shadows, right ? I don’t recall this issue being solved, aside of it being a weird optical illusion…
Also, I think it is a very good call to call the CTL code “Gamut Compress”. I think it is more explicit and less misleading that the term “Gamut Mapping”.
I am currently reading the documentation and listening to the last meeting. I think you can add videos/animated gifs in a pdf using Adobe InDesign. I have never done it myself but I have been told that it was possible.
For me, I would love to see this gif in the documentation. I think it was very explicit to show what the Gamut Compress does. At least a similar gif without the Jed modified version (originally uploaded by @nick ).
And another image that was very helpful was the one from @matthias.scharfenber :
I’ll keep reading through documentation to see if any more ideas come up. I’m really looking forward to the implementation group. I think our studio would probably use a future ACES 1.3 OCIO Config with Gamut Compress activated all the time (please don’t quote me on that).
Anyway, a BIG thank you. I have learned a lot through this group !
Chris
