I’ll only be able to make the first ~30 minutes of the call today but wanted to share a spreadsheet I built showing the range of various common log camera formats. Note the log encoding doesn’t tell you if a specific camera is limited to or can fill this range.

A quick summary of the range in stops above and below 18% grey, not counting sub-black values :

  • ACEScc : -7.2461 to 10.2739
  • ACEScct: -8.5058 to 10.2739
  • ARRI LogC3: -9.7608 to 8.2574
  • ARRI LogC4: -9.3646 to 11.3498
  • RED LogFilm: -10.9397 to 6.2311
  • RED Log3G10: -8.9083 to 10.0
  • Sony S-Log3: -10.3939 to 7.7378
